Our Triple Bubble® technology will produce extremely high barrier, bi-axially oriented multilayer films in a single pass, without additional processes like coating or laminating. The bi-orientation imparted on the film increases its oxygen and water vapour barrier significantly, without any negative effect on the final product.

The first production step is the extrusion of a first bubble, with up to 17 layers, followed immediately by water quenching. Subsequently, in a second bubble, the film of the primary tube is heated in a hot water bath or by infrared heaters and stretched in both machine and transverse direction. These are the prerequisites for the optimum biaxial drawing of the film.

After further cooling, the film is heat set in a third bubble. This step defines both the film’s shrink values as well as other properties accordingly.
