About us
Backsaver has been a specialist in the manufacture of top-quality stainless-steel lifting and tipping machinery for the food industry since 1990. Backsaver machines are simple and easy-to-use solutions for process optimization resulting in healthy employees.
Backsaver is an offshoot of the van Oirschot Roestvrijstaal BV, a family business established in 1948 as a specialist in stainless-steel custom work. For more than 40 years, we have accrued great experience in the manufacture of lifting and tipping machinery. In the early 1990s, having seen the huge demand for this kind of machinery, we established a separate brand called “Backsaver.”
The brand name “Backsaver” is entirely appropriate. After all, our machines may provide user-friendly solutions for process optimization, but they also prevent the risk of injury due to repeated bending and heavy lifting.
Backsaver is a family business run, since 2011, by the capable hands of the van Oirschot brothers, Bram and Tom, who represent the third generation. Each Backsaver machine is engineered and manufactured in our dedicated facility. Operating as a team, with a short line and optimal efficiency, we focus on customer service and total satisfaction, so we’ll always think from your perspective. Our job is to provide quality solutions that ensure immediate satisfaction. The customer and end user are foremost in all we do.
Backsaver: Work hard, lift smart.

Our Products

Backsaver ST standard tipper
The ST machine, like a pallet jack, is used to pick up a bin of product (meat, fish, vegetables, etc.) and move it to the location for emptying. The bin is then tipped in a smooth motion until the product starts to come out or even further to the maximum set angle. Because manual lifting, crouching and bending are no longer necessary, the risk of back pain, strain and injury is reduced. Healthy personnel are happier, more efficient and productive.
ST, with its two heavy-duty locking swivel casters mounted outside of the frame for maximum stability, can optionally be set to a tipping angle of up to 110 degrees while remaining safe and stable. Like other Backsavers, this machine is driven by a hydraulic cylinder that uses gravity for the lowering action. So, it’s very safe because it significantly reduces the risk that its moving parts might incur bodily injury. For even greater safety, it also features an audible backup signal that warns others about parts in motion, ensuring extra attention during operation.
Standard specifications;
- Discharge height 965mm
- Discharge angle 100⁰
- Maximum weight 900KG
- Single hydraulic cylinder
- Backup sound alarm
- Heavy-duty locking casters
- Powerful rechargeable battery
- Independent controls on each side
- Dead man’s (hold-to-run) buttons (Up/Down)

Backsaver CD Combo Bin Dumper
The Backsaver CD tipping machine is designed to empty heavy, extra-large plastic bins, combo bins, pallet crates, bulk boxes or octabins and other large containers. Equipped with a battery and twin hydraulic cylinders, this heavy-duty machine can tip bins of up to 1,500 kg / 3,500 lbs and up to 1,400 mm / 47.2″ high.
Health and enhanced productivity
This machine is designed to be installed at specific locations for emptying operations. When needed, it can still be occasionally relocated. A bin of product (meat, fish, vegetables, etc.) is loaded into the tipper with a pallet jack or forklift. The load is then tipped in a single smooth motion until the product starts to come out or even further to the maximum set angle. Because manual lifting, crouching and bending are no longer necessary, the risk of back pain, strain and injury is reduced. Healthy personnel are happier, more efficient and productive, and throughput is maximized.
Improved process: Perfect for product transfers and discharges
Backsavers are simple, easy-to-use machines that enhance production and reduce the risk of workplace injury. This machine is ideal whether you work at a table or on a process line. Independent controls on both sides of the machine are reachable regardless of its actual position, thus eliminating all the extra walking around the machine to operate it, reducing downtime and making it a very popular solution at food-processing facilities. It can be used to transfer products from cardboard bulk boxes to plastic bins. It can also be integrated into a process line to fill, for example, a screw conveyor’s hopper.
Powerful rechargeable batteries
Backsavers are powered by rechargeable batteries, so they can be used everywhere on the work floor regardless of the power-supply location. The batteries are suitable for operation in refrigerated areas and can be plugged in overnight for convenient charging. With fully charged batteries you can handle approximately 60 tons of products.
Operational safety: No forced lowering; light and sound for caution
Like other Backsavers, this machine is driven by twin hydraulic cylinders that use gravity for the lowering action. So, it’s very safe because it significantly reduces the risk that its moving parts might incur bodily injury. For even greater safety, it features an audible backup signal and a flashing LED beacon light that warn others about parts in motion, ensuring extra attention during operation.
Hygiene and food safety
Backsavers are developed especially for the food industry. They are safe to operate and suitable for direct contact with food products. Nimo-KG C3-SE/C4 Single Column Dumper
The Nimo-KG C3 Column Dumper machine (SKV 300 C3) is designed to empty standard DIN9797 200- or 300-liter meat carts, trolleys or buggies when the Backsaver NT/NTLT tipper’s dumping height is insufficient. The C3 Backsaver is available in different heights, between 1150 & 3250mm. The machine can be equipped with an adjustable dumping height on the column which allows the discharge height range to be set at 500mm difference in steps of 50mm.
The Column dumper is perfect for dumping trolleys in high buffers, mixers, tanks etc. without having the employee(s) to reach overhead or to walk up and down a stairs/ using a platform. This results in healthier & happier employees, reduction of risks such as back pain, strain and injuries, which improves the efficiency of the production process.
Improved process: Buggy handling as easy as it gets
Backsavers and Nimo-KG lifts are simple, easy-to-use machines that enhance production and reduce the risk of workplace injury. The control unit is placed on the column itself and the lifter can be operated by pressing the hold-to-run up- or down-button.
It can be easily integrated into a process line to discharge buggies into a high conveyor, buffer or a screw conveyor’s hopper for example. The standard Column Dumper is a fixed/static system.
Optional the Column Dumper can be delivered with a mobile undercariage to make it mobile and deployable anywhere in your facility.
Fixed power connection
Unlike our other Backsaver models, the Nimo-KG Single Column Dumper is standard powered by a fixed power connection. The reason for a fixed power connection with the Column Dumper is that these models will be mainly used as a fixed dumper and can be optionally used in different spots when equipped with the mobile carriage. The benefit with the fixed power supply is that this machine can run 24h/day, 7 days a week.
Operational safety: Hold-to-run up-& down-button to control the movement.
Unlike Backsavers, this machine is driven by an electrical motor in combination with a chain. Discharging & lowering the Buggy can be easily done by pressing the hold-to-run Up- or Down-button on the control box .
The reason for this usage is to avoid people getting trapped or hit by the column dumpers movement with an automated system, the operator must be within the machine operating space at all times when operating the the machine.
With a discharge height of 2500mm and above we need to switch to the C4 base model to avoid torsion issues and a safety fence around the machine will become mandatory.
An upgrade to a bigger double column lift like the Nimo-KG SKV 200 MK2 is a possible upgrade with high weights and preferable autonomous position.
Hygiene and food safety
