Compact and waterproof NG bearings

BJ-Gear A/S offers two types of bearing units; NG waterproof bearing units and Blue NG waterproof bearing units.

The bearing units are designed for the food industry and other industries with continuously stringent demands on material resistance and an easy-to-clean design.

Our NG bearing units are waterproof, and to reduce the risk of bacteria growth, the design is characterised by a smooth surface and rounded corners. The NG bearings are maintenance free and resistant to all cleaning products and to most chemicals.

NG flange bearings are very compact flange houses with the cover bolted on. The flange housing is made of PUR which is extremely sturdy, it is impact strenghtened and can be mounted in all angles. The flange housing is easy to clean with rounded corners and smooth surfaces.

The flange housing is mounted with a spherical lifetime lubricated ball bearing with excentric locking collar, Corrotect treated to prevent setting on the shaft, oil seal ring with a stainless steel spring, ensuring that water can not penetrate the housing - even at direct hosing.

Insert Bearings are lubricated with NSF H1 reg. grease, according to DIN 51825, Halal, Kosher etc. Making it a ideal choice when choosing sealed bearings for food production lines.

Blue NG Bearings

The Blue NG bearings are designed to meet the strict hygiene and durability requirements of industries such as food production, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors where cleanliness is critical.

Made from high-quality blue polyurethane (PUR), these bearings offer the same durability and impact resistance as the standard NG bearings. The blue color provides an added benefit by making it easier to identify dirt, debris, and contaminants, which is especially useful in environments where frequent cleaning and hygiene inspections are essential.

In addition to the visible color, the blue bearings feature stainless steel-reinforced mounting holes, ensuring strength and reliable performance under high-stress conditions. The hygienic bolts, nuts, and spacers are made from stainless steel, offering a robust solution while providing easy access for cleaning.

Possible to obtain a higher ingress protection than IP66
When installed in environments exceeding IP66, for example where the bearing is submerged or cleaning with high pressure occurs, it is recommended that the bearing is regularly refilled with grease. This is done by injecting grease trough the grease nipple. This grease serves as a barrier for the water gaining access to the lifetime lubricated bearing within the housing.

The stainless steel gearboxes are made of a smooth stainless gear housing, they are life lubricated, and can of course be supplied with oil approved for the food industry. Oil seals are as standard made of nitrile rubber.

To reduce the risk of bacterial growth, the design is characterised by smooth machined surfaces without unnecessary flanges, recesses and mounting holes. It is also possible to order the gearboxes with torque arm, side flange, free worm and plug-in shaft. Other adjustments are performed on request.

The protection of the gearboxes is IP65, and for stainless motors it is IP66. This ensures that the products can be cleaned with water under pressure from all directions. The stainless steel worm gearboxes are as standard made in three sizes: 31, 42 and 61. The number indicates the centre distance of the axles and thus the gear size.
