Maspoma Ltd. has become the first processor and producer of the pepper named "Žitavská paprika" and "Paprika Žitava". The uniqueness of "Žitavská paprika" pepper lies in its unique sweet aroma and taste. Due to the altitude, sufficient water, permeable soil and summer with a relatively low number of sunny days mean, that the high sugar content of the pepper does not change into a colorant in the same amount as when the pepper is grown in a warmer environment area, but remains as a flavoring. "Paprika Žitava" or "Žitavská paprika" therefore has its own unique sweet aroma and taste.

At the beginning of 2014 Paprika Zitava (pepper) was awarded with "Protected designation of origin" status as the first Slovak product within the Quality policy of the EU.
Capsicum-Consortiium of breeders, cultivators and producers of red pepper, which our company is member, has an ambition to return this product its former glory in the next few years.

Directly from the field to fork of our customers.  First mills grinded red pepper in  Zitava region more than 80 years ago while mill iof our company in Dvory nad Zitavou continues in this tradition where we produce pepper from surrounding region. This region of fertile plains is famous for growing of grain, corn, fruit, vegetable and good vine. It has a rich history and culture, typical folk costume and folklore which has become an inspiration for the package of the product itself.
