A new addition to the successful GEA Cookstar family. Serving medium capacities in the market especially suited for coated and plant-based products up to a capacity of 1700 kg/hr. Up to 3% better yield than most ovens and 10-12% energy savings qualifying it for the Add Better label which has been substantiated by data and verified by TuV. To illustrate: 1% yield on a 2-shift operation at 1500 kg/hr could translate into 55 tons of product saving which represents 100 - 200k Euro, depending on the type of substrate and coating. GEA Cookstar First will be provided with smart process improvements that improve process control and cooking insights. It will be available with the cloud connected starter package plus which is a service package which supports preventive maintenance and with that uptime as well as an additional Insight Partner module which gives a dashboard on energy usage to enable our customers to optimize their settings to minimize energy usage for their SKU’s.

GEA SmartPacker CX400 with Smart Sealing System

In vertical packaging, the renowned GEA SmartPacker CX400 will feature an innovative Smart Sealing System, incorporating coated sealing strips with a significantly longer lifespan than traditional ones.

The new recyclable coated aluminum strips can reliably seal at least 500,000 bags without needing replacement. Various use cases have demonstrated even higher numbers—up to 2.6 million bags or more, depending on the application.

This innovation ensures extended durability and lifespan of the sealing strips, even when handling challenging frozen products such as breaded and crumb-coated chicken, fish sticks, and tempura shrimp.

And when your sealing strips eventually need replacing, the process is as simple as "click and go"—no special training or tools required.

To further optimize operational efficiency, the system features a retractable cutting knife that works in combination with GEA’s product-in-seal detection technology, ensuring it only operates when the seal area is clear. This prevents unnecessary wear, keeping the blade sharp for longer. Additionally, by positioning the knives at the back of the machine, the blade lifespan is extended by at least five times.
