Filter
A sand filter is a mechanical device used for wastewater and water treatment, primarily designed to remove solids and suspended particles from liquids. It consists of a container filled with a layer of specialized filter sand.
The wastewater or water is passed through the sand, where particles are trapped and retained in the sand. As filtration occurs, the water becomes clearer, as both coarse and fine impurities are left behind in the sand. Sand filters are effective, low-maintenance, and commonly used in treatment plants, swimming pools, and drinking water purification. They play a crucial role in improving water quality by removing suspended solids, algae, and other contaminants.
