UV IB
Beschreibung
Both the Food Hygiene Ordinance and VDI 6022 place high demands on hygiene in food production. Continuous cleaning of the room air is therefore indispensable, especially in production areas of the meat processing industry, in order to meet the legal standards and to avoid quality problems, premature spoilage of goods and complaints.
UV-C disinfection systems from oxytec (UV IB) offer an effective way of inactivating harmful micro-organisms in the climate chamber before they enter the production area - even in humid areas of the plant such as cooling coils or evaporators.
In order to ensure effective air disinfection and room hygiene in production areas in accordance with VDI 6022 and food hygiene regulations, a system such as the UV IB based on UV-C light must be matched to the respective spatial and user-specific requirements in advance of a project. For this purpose, relevant process data such as air temperature, relative humidity, dust load, micro-organism load (qualitative and quantitative analysis), room volume and geometry (including windows and doors), frequency with personnel, type of products processed as well as operating parameters of possibly already existing ventilation systems must first be analysed.
In this case, the principle of UV-C disinfection for evaporators means that supply and room air is first sucked into the respective disinfection modules at the evaporator coolers. The on-site air performance of the modules ranges between 1620 and 4100 m³/h, depending on the requirements. Micro-organisms in the air - for example bacteria, mould, yeasts and viruses - are irradiated with UV-C light in a closed system chamber at a wavelength of exactly 253.7 nm and thus inactivated up to a proportion of 99%.
Light traps prevent UV-C rays from being emitted in measurable harmful quantities. This is checked at every installation by the prescribed UV-C measurement. Apart from a low heat input, the UV-C units incidentally have no negative influence on the operation of the evaporators. Products and employees are thus effectively protected.
