Special show: “Regional Specialities”
Hall 6.1, Stand B87 und B91
5 – 10 May 2007

A large number of regional specialities are essential to the German sausage and meat industry. There is a demand for many of these specialities in butcher’s shops featuring a good range, although they cannot be supplied, or are not allowed, in the respective region. Well-known examples of such products are Black Forest Hams, Thuringian Sausage, or stuffed pig’s stomach from the Palatinate. To offer specialities from such regions, a retail butcher must buy in from other regions. If he does so, he generally has a choice between industrially produced goods or hand-made products.

Three businesses making hand-made products will be presenting their regional specialities here and will be ready to explain to those interested the various arrangements involved in potential deliveries. The three businesses have been chosen deliberately from North, South and Central Germany:

• Holstein ham (Holstein speciality)
• Westphalian ham (Westphalian speciality)
• Black Forest ham (Black Forest speciality)

The three firms will be making their presentation under the joint motto:

               Regional specialities
Hand made – for the butcher’s trade
