Meat markets of the world – an analysis of surplus and deficit regions in times of economic crisis
In the light of the growing global population and rising buying power in many developing and emerging nations, analysts expect global meat production to continue to grow dynamically, although different growth rates are expected for each type of meat. Forecasts show that, by 2018, poultry meat production will have overtaken that of pork.
Five authorities on the world’s major meat centres, Europe, Russia, Asia, Australia, North and South America, will be highlighting goods flows, discussing the advantages and disadvantages of different locations, elucidating meat production costs, how they affect the competitive situation and take account of current animal and environmental protection issues, bearing in mind the worsening competitive situation.
